Fail proof Way to Look Your Best on Your Big Night Out

So I was getting ready for a cruise to celebrate graduating from college. I go to Dillard’s and buy a dress for formal night on the ship. Well, just at my seating alone there were 2 other women in my dress! So stay away from your local mall when shopping for formal dresses!

There are two main goals you should have in mind when shopping for a formal dress.

1. Wear something that is appropriate for the event. 2. Wear something that is appropriate for you.

Okay, they may seem like obvious things, but I see people breaking these rules all the time!

What does it mean to wear something appropriate for the event? First of all, it does not mean that you have to wear a pant suit to a corporate function. However, it does mean that you should not put on your shortest mini-skirt and your tallest high heels. So, put some thought into what activities will be taking place (where there be a lot of sitting, dancing etc) and what image you want to portray of yourself. You may look smoking hot in a dress, but is it what you want your boss to see you in? If you hold out for it, the perfect dress will make you look hot while also portraying an appropriate image.

Secondly, wear something that is appropriate for you. What I mean by this is something that is age and body-type appropriate. Do not wear your knock-off, Jennifer Lopez, green, neckline plunging Grammy dress to your 8th grade Valentines dance. Find a dress that looks good on your body. Do you want to hide any trouble-spots (arms, thighs, tummy, etc)? It is also important to stay dressed in your age range. This goes for both the young and the old. Trust me that you will look the best in a dress that is true to who you are.

For me, I have the most fun when I am the most comfortable. I am the most comfortable when I am confident. And I am the most confident when I look good. Finding the perfect dress is the perfect way to look good and have a blast at any formal event.
